Best Restaurants Barcelona

On our way to get tapas in El Born neighborhood.

One of the best things (among MANY) about Barcelona is the amazing food around every corner. Of course tapas often steal the show, but there so many other great options from beachfront paella joints to Michelin-starred feasts. Find our favorites below:

TAPAS

Cañete- Must stop. Classic tapas.

Taller de Tapas- A chain so there are a few around, but a good place for a lunch/snack.

Bar Mut-Another classic stop for Tapas.

Xampanyet- Crowded with a long line and no seats, but located half a block from the Picasso museum and worth the wait.

La Pepita-Amazing vibe. A little on the pricy side, but worth it.

Mont Bar- More refined tapas in an elegant setting.

Paco Meralgo- Seasonal, high-quality tapas.

Pintoxo- At Boqueria market, recommended by Anthony Bourdain

Quimet y Quimet- Another recommendation by Bourdain. Great conservas seafood/toast.

Bar Lobo- Trendy tapas spot with lively atmosphere and great food.

RESTAURANTS

Fismuler- Started by three former El Bulli chefs doing their version of casual/comfort food. Don’t miss the razor clams. Incredible.

Disfrutar- Ranked one of the top 10 best restaurants in the world. Tasting menu is insane.

Alkimia/al Kostat- Alkimia is a two Michelin-starred Spanish/Japanese Fusion restaurant. Al Kostat is the Spanish comfort food restaurant next door.

Passadis del Pep- Seafood restaurant in El Born. Not inexpensive, but a wonderful experience where they serve whatever is fresh from the market that day.

El Tragaluz- Tasty Mediterranean food in a beautiful space.

Boca Grande-In the center of the city, the food is good and the location is gorgeous. You can have a drink after at Boca Chica in the same establishment.

Gallito- On the beach, great atmosphere and location for people watching and good food.

Can Fisher- Another great beachfront restaurant serving Paella.

BARS

El Chigre 1769- Such a fun place to enjoy wine standing outside and enjoying the ambiance of Barcelona. They also serve food.

Dr. Stravinsky- great drinks and atmosphere in an interesting area. No food.

Cotton House Hotel- Wonderful specialty cocktails and wine. Great seeding for a drink when you’re in the shade.

Bobby’s Free Speak Easy-This is a fun speakeasy with a barber shop in front.

Paradiso-Another fun speakeasy behind a refrigerator door in a deli.
