HARBOUR ISLAND BAHAMAS: TRAVEL GUIDE

View from The Dunmore Hotel at Dusk

Harbour Island in the Bahamas is a magical little island and one of our favorite places to visit in the Caribbean. The people are friendly, thewater is crystal clear and the only mode of transportation is by boat or golf cart, making it a perfect spot for a carefree family vacation.

EAT

Clubouse at the Dunmore: The Dunmore hotel has a fabulous restaurant overlooking the beach. Don’t miss for sunset cocktails, and be sure to try the ceviche.

The Landing, set inside one of the oldest buildings in Dunmore town is perfect for a date night.

Queen Conch is a super casual restaurant set right on the main dock that is famous for…you guessed it, conch! You may even be surrounded by conch shells (and sometimes the flies they attract) while you dine. All part of the charm.

DO

Rent a golf cart. Getting around the island is half the fun of staying here. Swerving around stray cats and wandering chickens really makes you feel like you’re living the island life. You can also use it to explore the charming shops of Dunmore town. Golf carts run about $40/day and rentals can be coordinated by the hotels we recommended above.

Views around Harbous Island

Relax at Pink Sands Beach. This has to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the Bahamas, with the pink sand coming from the conch shells that are so prevalent around the island.

Go Fish. Several outfitters in the area will take you fishing, either bonefishing or deep-sea fishing. Getting out on a boat also means you can experience the beauty of Harbour Island from a different perspective.
